Graduate Assistantships
Current students and applicants to LACC's Master of Arts in Latin American and Caribbean Studies program are encouraged to apply for graduate assistantships. Graduate assistants work closely with faculty members and acquire classroom experience by helping faculty administer their courses. Assistantships require 20 hours of work weekly and include 80% of the in-state portion of tuition and a modest stipend. Applications are accepted in the Fall and in the Spring.
International Students Awarded Graduate Assistantships
An international student who has been awarded a Graduate Assistantship must obtain a Social Security Card by applying to the Social Security Administration upon arrival in the US: http://www.socialsecurity.gov/ssnumber/ss5.htm
You must also plan on arriving in Miami at least one (1) month prior to the beginning of classes.
