Teaching Assistantships
Current students and applicants to LACC's Master of Arts in Latin American and Caribbean Studies program are encouraged to apply for teaching assistantships. Teaching assistants work closely with faculty members and acquire classroom experience by helping faculty administer their courses. Assistantships require 20 hours of work weekly and include 80% of the in-state portion of tuition and a modest stipend. Applications are accepted in the Fall and in the Spring. A limited number of research assistantships may be available to qualified candidates and continuing students enrolled in a LACC combined M.A./Ph.D. program. Ph.D. research assistantship awards include 80% of total tuition cost (in-state and out-of-state portion of tuition) and a modest stipend. Applications for research assistantships are due each Spring.
