Teacher Training Workshops and Summer Institutes

LACC hosts more than 400 primary and secondary school teachers per academic year for full-day workshops on Latin American and Caribbean politics, history, society and culture. The content-based workshops are led by experts on the region and provide teachers with the opportunity to discuss strategies for teaching various topics related to Latin America and the Caribbean, with an emphasis on the richness and diversity of the region.

Many of LACC's workshops for K-12 teachers are conducted in conjunction with partners including the Miami-Dade County Public School system, the Florida Humanities Council, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens, the National Security Studies Summer Institute, and University partners across the U.S.

For more information about LACC's Teacher Training Workshops, contact LACC's Associate Director, Liesl B. Picard at (305) 348-2894.
