MOU with the City of Buenos Aires

In October 2023, LACC and the City of Buenos Aires signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen ties and expand collaboration. As two global cities, Buenos Aires and Miami share common challenges and opportunities. The MOU lays the foundation for activities and exchange between FIU and the City of Buenos Aires, universities, and think tanks in Argentina. Areas of priority include public security and governance, climate change, public health, energy and transportation, disaster risk management, and cybersecurity. The collaboration will include co-led executive education courses in Miami and Buenos Aires; FIU-led professional development seminars for Buenos Aires’s civil servants; faculty and student exchange, joint research that brings together FIU and Buenos Aires-based faculty; and a variety of outreach events designed to examine pressing topics of mutual interest.
