Central American Security and Drug Policy (CASAD) Scholarship
The Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center (LACC) at Florida International University invites prospective students from El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala to apply to the Central American Security and Drug Policy Scholarship (CASAD). The CASAD program will provide tuition and stipend to students seeking to complete the Master of Arts in Latin American and Caribbean Studies (MALACS).
The Master of Arts in Latin American and Caribbean Studies (MALACS) is a unique interdisciplinary program that allows students to design their program based on their own research and career interests. The Program is particularly valuable to those students whose research and professional interests cannot be accommodated within a single discipline.
Requirements
- Be a resident citizen of any of the following countries: El Salvador, Guatemala or Honduras
- Grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for the last 60 hours of undergraduate work or post-baccalaureate study
- Statement of purpose focused on research in security or drug policy in Central America and the Caribbean, and consistent with the goals of the program; explain why you are interested in attending FIU’s MALACS Program
- A total score of 80 or higher in the TOEFL
Application Submission
Application Deadline: February 15, 2021
To apply, you must complete the application to the Master of Arts in Latin American and Caribbean Studies (MALACS) program and mention your interest in the CASAD scholarship within your personal statement.
