In collaboration with various academic units at FIU and an impressive array of international partners, LACC supports and promotes a growing number of study abroad programs to Latin America and the Caribbean.
These short-term, summer programs afford students the opportunity to earn academic credit through a personally and intellectually enriching experience. Past participants have expressed how living and studying in a foreign country not only deepened their understanding of another culture, language, and society, but offered the opportunity to develop valuable transnational competencies.
The study abroad experience helps prepare students for careers in the diverse and challenging international environments found in today's marketplace. It is also an invaluable primer for students interested in conducting field research at the graduate level.
