Latin American Forum
The cornerstone of LACC's outreach to the private sector is its Latin American Forum (LAF). The LAF brings together prominent U.S. and European multinational corporations' CEOs for Latin America, as well as North American-based CEOs from Latin American companies, for dynamic programming intended to promote high-level exchange among private sector representatives, increased interdisciplinary dialogue related to the region, and private sector professional development opportunities through engagement with regional experts and hemispheric leaders. The LAF serves to further solidify LACC's position as a key player across those sectors that remain most critical to Miami and the Latin American and the Caribbean region.
MALACS/JD and MALACS/MBA Joint-Degree Programs
LACC is also proud to offer formal academic programs designed to support enhanced area studies knowledge while directly connecting students to advanced professional training. Joint-degree programs between LACC and the FIU College of Law and LACC and the FIU College of Business Administration allow students to pursue a Juris Doctor (JD) or a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Arts in Latin American and Caribbean Studies (MALACS) in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner.
Student Internship Program
LACC also encourages meaningful exchange with private sector professionals and practical training for students through its robust internship program. Master of Arts students may pursue college-to-work opportunities that enhance their potential in the job market. Additionally, approved internships along with a major research paper are one of the exit options available to M.A. students.
