Outreach to Primary and Secondary Schools As a federally supported National Resource Center with a mandate to promote public education regarding Latin America and the Caribbean, one of LACC's most important missions is its dedication to K-12 teacher education. In an effort to reach out to area schools, increase awareness about Latin America and the Caribbean, and provide material to be incorporated into each respective school's curriculum, LACC provides web-based lesson plans on Latin America and the Caribbean, hosts Teacher Training Workshops, provides scholarships for Florida public school teachers to participate in our annual Haitian Summer Institute, and sponsors teachers interested in attending the Latin American Studies Association International Congress. |
