Events & Outreach

Outreach to educators, media, government, business and the general public is a key part of LACC's mission. In collaboration with its affiliates, other academic institutions, and public and private organizations, LACC regularly holds conferences, lecture series, workshops and other events related to Latin America and the Caribbean. In addition to frequent lectures and roundtables, major annual events include the Journalists and Editors Workshop, Teacher Training Workshops and the Miami Security Roundtable, a joint project with the University of Miami's North-South Center and the US Southern Command to encourage dialogue with policy makers and hemispheric security officials.

The common thread linking LACC's activities and its affiliated centers and institutes is a commitment to projects that contribute to the understanding of social, political, economic and cultural trends in Latin America and the Caribbean, while educating as wide a public as possible about the region.
