Lecture by Reinaldo Funes Monzote, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of History, University of Havana, Cuba based on Monzote's award-winning book on the environmental history of Cuba since Columbus and the two processes that have had the most dramatic impact on the island's landscape: deforestation and sugar cultivation.
