Lecture and multimedia presentation, "Immigrant Rights, American Values and Global Citizenship," by Dr. Erik Camayd-Freixas, Professor, FIU. Dr. Camayd-Freixas will examine the 2008 raid at Postville, IA., violations of due process, the criminalization of immigrant workers and the current debate surrounding the tradeoff between national security and democratic values. He will also reflect on the Postville experience and its implications for immigrant rights, American values and global citizenship in the post-9/11 political order, and the decline of constitutional guarantees.
