Institute for International Professional Services

The only institute of its kind in the United States, the Institute for International Professional Services (IIPS) studies the impact of services on the Florida economy by gathering key statistics on service industries and monitoring trade initiatives that facilitate services exports. IIPS works to identify trends in service industries and opportunities, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean, in close collaboration with the state's business and policy communities.

IIPS has sponsored several important studies of the Florida and US services sectors. The institute's research has been hailed as a model state-based economic development initiative. IIPS has participated in trade missions to Latin America and worked with counterpart organizations in countries such as the Dominican Republic to explore closer ties between Florida and potential economic and commercial partners.

As a service provider, IIPS was instrumental in establishing the Consortium of Political Management for Latin America, a network of universities and educational providers that encourages the development of campaign management standards and practices of excellence throughout the hemisphere.
