Mission Statement

The Cuban Research Institute (CRI) at Florida International University is a public academic research center dedicated to the creation and dissemination of new knowledge about Cuba and Cuban-Americans, with emphasis on governance, the arts and society, Cuban Miami, and the environment. CRI is a politically neutral organization, funded by private and public foundations, private donors, and the State of Florida. The research efforts and public programs of CRI are independently selected for their academic merit and contribution to the Institute’s programmatic vision.
