The Cuba Forum

Co-sponsored by the Cuban Research Institute (CRI) and the Inter-American Dialogue, the Cuba Forum is a lecture series held in Washington D.C. on Cuba and US-Cuba relations covering a wide range of policy-relevant topics. The objectives of the Cuba Forum are to:

  • Present to policymakers, intelligence officials, academics, the media, and the general community information and analysis on key policy issues affecting Cuba and U.S. policy toward the island.

  • Broaden the parameters of policy debate regarding Cuba’s political, economic, and social conditions by creating a space where multiple perspectives are welcome and dialogue is encouraged.

  • Take to Washington, D.C. national and international experts on Cuba and encourage a healthy relationship between the academy, policymakers, the diplomatic corps, and the media as they analyze aspects of contemporary Cuban issues and the process of transition on the island.

  • Establish a network of parties interested in Cuba in the Washington area, including US policymakers, NGO officials, academics, and diplomatic corps.

Future sessions of the Cuba Forum will examine specifics of the Cuba case while placing the island’s situation in a regional framework, drawing on the expertise and resources of the CRI and Inter-American Dialogue.

The Cuba Forum is made possible by the generous support of the Ford Foundation.
