Out-of-State Tuition Waivers for International Students from the Caribbean and Mexico The Latin American and Caribbean Center (LACC) awards out-of-state tuition waivers annually to international graduate and undergraduate students from the Caribbean and Mexico to help mitigate the cost of studying in Florida. These waivers pay the out-of-state portion of the cost of tuition for students studying in any discipline at any public university or community college in Florida. The program is funded through the Florida Caribbean Institute (FCI) and Florida Mexico Institute (FMI). Both institutes are state-funded initiatives designed to expand linkages between Florida and the Caribbean Basin and Mexico. The FMI Tuition Waiver is open to all students who are citizens of Mexico and are studying in Florida with a student visa. The FCI Tuition Waiver is open to all students who are citizens of Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago, and are studying in Florida with a student visa. For more information, please contact LACC's Office of Academic Programs at 305-348-2894 or email lacc@fiu.edu.
