Americas Advisory Board

LACC counts on the support of South Florida businesses and professionals to expand the scope and quality of its programs. By investing in LACC, local businesses invest in the community, helping to train new generations of leaders and increase public awareness of regional issues that affect Florida’s economy, politics and society.

The Americas Advisory Board consists of private sector representatives who contribute their support and expertise to shape LACC’s programs. In turn, members gain access to a wide range of resources and events that are invaluable for deepening their knowledge of topics important to their companies’ interests, exploring business opportunities and market trends, and making new contacts.

To make participation possible for smaller local companies as well as large corporations, two different levels of membership are available:

$10,000-$25,000 – Executive Member
$5,000 – Full Member

All contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law and renewable annually.

Benefits of Membership

  • Two yearly meetings, which provide an opportunity to exchange ideas with LACC’s leadership concerning future events, projects and other areas of interest. Meetings take place at sites convenient to downtown businesses and include LACC’s directors, public affairs manager and a Faculty Advisory Board representative. Invited guest speakers include Latin American business and political leaders, scholars, representatives of international organizations and other experts. Seminars offer different perspectives on key issues facing the region.

  • Priority access to LACC events, centers and faculty to assist with special requests and research needs.

  • Recruitment and internship contacts with LACC graduate students, a qualified and highly motivated pool of aspiring professionals.

  • LACC publications, including the center’s calendar of events, books, conference proceedings, special reports, and a working paper series.

  • Sponsorship opportunities at LACC public events.

  • Assistance in arranging one-on-one meetings with VIP visitors, who in the past have included presidents, government officials, trade and financial representatives, executives, regional analysts, journalists, and health care administrators.

Corporate Recognition

Board members are featured in LACC’s annual report, fora and newsletters. LACC publications and events acknowledge Americas Advisory Board support of the center’s programs and provide varied opportunities for enhanced visibility of corporate sponsors.

A Valuable Investment

Membership in the Americas Advisory Board supports the programs that are essential to maintain LACC’s momentum as one of the fastest growing and most respected Latin American Studies centers in the country. Contributions help fund student scholarships, faculty research, and the development of academic programs that attract top students and faculty. Funding may also support events that bring increased international exposure to the center, university, city, and state.
